I was very proud of myself after this weekend. I bought a coat last summer and within a few months all but one of the front buttons had fallen off. Normally I'd give up on the thing, but with money being tight and the fact that I like the coat, I decided I'd finally learn to fix an article of clothing.
On Saturday I went to Michaels and bought some thread and needles and on Sunday went to work. Thank goodness for the internet with its videos and eHow.com. Seriously. I found out that I was sewing on a "shank" button with "anchor" buttons. It wasn't perfect, but I did it and I like the look of the yellow thread I picked. You can't always be boring and matching!
