A few weeks ago Dan and I decided to go downtown to check out the Chicago Jazz Festival. As we made our way to the city, it started to rain so we wondered what we would find once we got to Grant Park. We popped into Borders first (store closing - 80% off!) and by the time we arrived, the rain had stopped.
The first act we caught was
phenomenal. It was The Maurice Brown Effect playing songs from their album, "The Cycle of Love." Just great. Worth a Google. The next act was...not so great, despite the emcee touting the resumes of all of the members of the group. They just weren't great. So we left. The sky also began to look pretty menacing and we didn't want to get caught in more rain.
Overall, it was a really fun time and it's exciting to live in a city where stuff like this happens all. the. time.

I love all the festivals Chicago has! We used to take advantage of all the fun stuff to do. Aah, memories of taking the train in from the suburbs. So fun!
